Gallery Eskort in Brno began its activities on 08-14-2000 out of the need to define the exhibition space for visual arts students in Brno region, namely for the students of Faculty of fine arts at VUT in Brno. Its curator being then Jana Kalinová, who created the exhibition concept based on principle 3/1. That meant in praxis that 3 beginning authors were introduced and as the fourth came a young but rather well “established” artist from the contemporary art scene. Since 2002 thus appeared in the program better known names from the Prague art scene, students from AVU or VŠUP in Prague, who were at this occasion introduced to audience in Brno and became connected with local art scene. In 2006-2007 was the gallery production ensured by Jiří Havlíček and Petr Strouhal.
